1-With a heart disposed to learn from your Mother Mary, read, Book One, Chapter 2, "God's inscrutable essence. The decree of creation."2-In the "order of things created" Blessed Mary of Agreda identifies six "instants". Rewrite these six instants in your spiritual diary, writing yourself in, in the appropriate places to see how and where you fit in the "order of things" as God desires for you.

For example: "I understood, that this order comprises the following instants. The first instant is: God recognizing his infinite attributes and perfections together with the propensity and the ineffable inclination to communicate Himself outwardly to me." Words in italics added to show self as object of God's desires.

A second example: "The majesty of God, beholding the nature of his infinite perfections, their virtue and efficacy operating with magnificence, saw, that it was just and proper, and, as it were, a duty and a necessity, to communicate Himself to me and to follow ..." Examine your love for God and see if you adore and revere Him as the good angels do "through love and because of the justice of it" or if your love is like that of Lucifer's, "submitting yourself (to God) because the opposite seems impossible." It is very important you know where you are on this matter. If, you do adore and revere God "through love and because of the justice of it" praise and love Him all the more. If however you see yourself as submitting yourself (to God) because the "opposite seems impossible" give praise and glory to Him for this insight. Let your heart regain its' humility by caring for and seeing to the needs for others, those who cannot see to their own needs.

3-Read and understand thoroughly from, "In the second place..." to "as far as it has been given me." Understand how the angels responded to God's revelation of Jesus and Mary. Compare this with how Lucifer responded. Do you (like the good angels), "break forth in admiration and in canticles of praise" and "... defend the honour of God incarnate and of His holy Mother?"
